The application is now closed. The competition will open in Spring MENA iie. The countries listed above are those in which it is anticipated that there will be grants for the current academic year. If the country that you are interested in is not listed, then currently there is no Fulbright U. Student Program in that country. Selection for countries in the Middle East and North Africa will be made based on the quality of the applications, rather than per-country quotas.
Distribution of awards to countries in the region may vary annually according to the caliber of the applicants. See the country summary for details. May vary for independent research. However, grantees affiliating with academic institutions should expect their grant to coincide with the academic year for the most part.
Israel requires them during the semi-finalist stage. If this is not possible, it is best to identify appropriate host institutions in the application. However, the host country makes the final arrangements in placing grantees at the appropriate academic institutions.
Applicants are encouraged to establish contact with potential host institutions as early as possible. Candidates are responsible for securing visa and research clearances, as required. In countries with Fulbright Commissions, assistance may be provided.
